About Us ...
a 'welcome' to Overend Mission’s website
by our Minister: As you see, many activities take place in our premises throughout the week. It is through these activities that we, the church, carry out our mission as Christians: to meet people at any point on their spiritual journey and lead them one step close to Jesus. We provide spiritual, practical and emotional support to each other, to members of the community who come to us and to those whom we meet beyond the church building. Through our Sunday worships, prayer meetings and Bible studies, we seek to relate our lives and what goes on in the world to the presence of God and listen to what he says to us. As a faith community, we know that God requires us to act out our faith in our daily living. And we strive to become more like Jesus; we always try to demonstrate his love for all people, to identify with his opposition to injustice and to uphold his power to change people’s lives for the better. We believe that everyone can share in the ministry of the church, and so we try to ensure that every member and visitor feels welcomed and at he with us and we encourage everyone to play a role in church life, so that the gifts, talents and abilities that God has given to each one of them, can be used to God’s glory. If you would like to find out more about our church or if you have a testimony to share with your friends at Overend Mission, please contact myself, the Minister, on 01384 356547. Once again thank you for visiting our website. May God bless you.
